Finance Summer Analyst Program at Morgan Stanley
The Finance Summer Analyst Program at Morgan Stanley is a 10-week program starting in June, offering a comprehensive introduction to the world of finance. Summer analysts are placed on teams within the Finance division, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to various functions within the department.
Program Overview:
Training:
- The program begins with a firmwide orientation, followed by market overviews and business unit-specific training.
- Most training occurs "on the job".
- Throughout the summer, analysts participate in seminars with senior management, a group project, community service activities, and social/networking events.
Department Profile:
- The Finance Division, led by the CFO, employs approximately 3,000 individuals worldwide.
- Key responsibilities include safeguarding financial records, risk management, regulatory relationships, financial communication to the investment community, and advising Morgan Stanley’s businesses and management.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Join a high-performing team delivering financial reporting and analysis.
- Ensure the integrity of Morgan Stanley’s books and records.
- Provide financial reporting and analysis for various stakeholders.
- Contribute to process improvements for efficiency and control.
- Gain understanding of corporate finance terminology, analytics, visualization tools (Excel, Tableau), and divisional structure.
- Collaborate on a group project to propose solutions to business challenges.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics, expected to graduate between December 2025 and June 2026.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Team-oriented, detail-oriented, with sound judgment and discretion.
- Excellent time management, multitasking, problem-solving, and technological skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
