Our Accountant is responsible for preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, financial reports, and compiling, maintaining, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
This position will serve our
Rheem Northeast Distribution Division
, located in
Islandia, NY
.
- Prepares and enters month end close journal entries under a tight deadline
- Maintain and reconcile asset and liability accounts to the general ledger
- Assist in establishing and documenting internal controls
- Review and document procedures, recommending improvements towards efficiency and standardization
- Complete bank reconciliation on a daily basis
- Analyze data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability
- Research, resolve and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
- Reconcile open intercompany balances between the companies to guarantee accuracy
- Calculate Commissions for sales and branch teams
- Assist A/R and A/P teams as necessary
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
1+ years’ experience in accounting
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Demonstrates ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.
Experience with financial reporting.
Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
HOW TO STAND OUT:
Experience with Oracle preferred.
The pay scale for this position $48,492 - $77,328. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated, and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria.
