Senior Loan Workout Specialist – Vice President (New York, NY)

We are partnering with a leading financial institution to find a Senior Loan Workout Specialist. In this key role, you will oversee and manage a portfolio of distressed loans, using your expertise to negotiate solutions that maximize recoveries and minimize losses. You will play a critical part in a dynamic team, working on complex deals across various industries.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead the resolution and management of a portfolio of distressed corporate loans, including complex syndicated credits and project finance deals.
• Conduct thorough financial statement analysis, including KPI assessments, cash flow modeling, and corporate valuations to inform workout and restructuring strategies.
• Spearhead negotiations with borrowers, legal teams, creditors, and external stakeholders to achieve optimal loan recovery outcomes.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to address underperforming loans, considering various approaches such as loan sales, asset liquidations, or refinancing options.
• Represent the organization in high-level negotiations and steering committee discussions to ensure the company’s interests are effectively represented.
• Regularly update senior management on portfolio performance, borrower ratings, and regulatory impacts, while providing strategic recommendations for decision-making.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, offering guidance and support to ensure their success and growth within the organization.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred).
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in wholesale banking, loan workouts, credit risk management, or turnaround consulting.
• Expertise in financial statement analysis, loan structuring, and distressed credit management.
• Proven experience in managing complex, distressed loan portfolios and negotiating successful restructurings.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in financial analysis tools like Bloomberg, Moody’s, Excel, etc.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work independently to resolve challenging credit situations.
