Role Description

We are a Rates focused eTrading Strats team, operating globally in London, New York and Tokyo. We are responsible for the development and operation of automated trading strategies, eBooks and pricing models across client and interdealer electronic venues. We are seeking an innovative and experienced eTrading Strategist / Developer to join our dynamic trading team. The ideal candidate will be joining our team building a best in class electronic trading platform across Global Rates products.

You are a confident and self-motivating strat/developer with a solid understanding of electronic markets. You are client focused and are comfortable communicating with stakeholders across the bank. You are at home developing in a small self-organising team and value user feedback within an agile development process. You can manage expectations effectively and have a demonstrable track record of owning delivery of a high-profile product to demanding business users.

You are familiar with the Fixed Income markets, both cash and derivatives, and understand the value of an intuitive, robust and reliable eTrading systems to a trading desk.

About Our Full-Time Analyst Program

Join Nomura’s Graduate program in Global Markets, New York. We are looking for the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders to make an impression on our future.

As a new Analyst joiner, you will also attend a four-week intensive Global Training Program with peers from our offices around the world. Nomura places great emphasis on the career development of our junior population. Our comprehensive program will focus on Global Markets technical training alongside business speakers and networking opportunities. The unique program will orientate you to Nomura’s history, values, and build your knowledge and appreciation of working within a Japanese investment bank.

Once you have completed Global Training and joined your desk, you will be enrolled in our Continuing Professional Development Program offering workshops, speaker sessions, and mentorship. The three pillars of CPD (Business & Technical Skills, Career Management, and Professional Skills) provide you with the necessary knowledge and ability required to succeed on the desk and maximize your potential.

The Rates eTrading Strat Analyst will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Develop sophisticated algorithmic trading strategies using quantitative methods and statistical analysis
  • Implement and optimize execution algorithms to improve trading efficiency and reduce market impact
  • Collaborate with quants, developers, and traders to translate trading ideas into production-ready code
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of trading strategies, making real-time adjustments as necessary
  • Conduct research on new trading opportunities and market inefficiencies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with electronic trading venues and liquidity providers
  • Contribute to the firm's overall electronic trading infrastructure and technology stack
