Overview
As an Alternative Operations Associate on the Hedge Fund Solutions Team within Alternatives Middle Office, a division of JPMorgan Alternative Asset Management, Inc. with $12 billion in assets in fund of hedge funds, private credit and multi-manager customized portfolios you will be an Alternative Operations Associate with strong interpersonal and operational skills to perform and/or oversee the operational functions of its clients and service providers (administrators, custodians, etc.).
Job ResponsibilitiesCreate, manage and review all documents and spreadsheets relating to subscriptions, redemptions, transfers and conversion processing for both Investors and Investments
Execute complex Investments in and out of underlying Hedge Fund Managers (both USD and FX)
Work closely with portfolio management team and risk on the finalization of trades/executions
Daily Interaction with Compliance and Legal on all aspects of investment documentation
Daily cash and trade reconciliation
Working directly with clients, clients support teams, and internal working teams on new product launches and new business initiatives
Offering guidance/support/knowledge to various clients, client support teams and JPM teams on product services and processes
Establish efficient workflow processes between JPMAAM and our client's Fund Administrators/custodians
Proactively look for means of automation, efficiencies and scalabilities - consistently work with business groups to make enhancements to current systems and processes
Work with internal or external vendors to minimize risk, maximize efficiency and ensure service quality
Responsible for resolving problems and discrepancies both internally and externally
4 years of relevant experience
Proactive, detail oriented, team player with strong organizational/multi-tasking skill set
Strong working knowledge of products with an emphasis on Subscription, Redemption, Conversion and Transfer processing
Experience in FOF trade execution, completion of hedge fund documents
Strong ability in working with and instructing and/or communicating with Fund Administrators/Custodians/Clients/Fund Managers
Understanding product needs and implement adequate procedures and improvements across products
Excellent database knowledge required - Specifically Microsoft Excel.
Ability to communicate directly with all levels of Senior management within the business and throughout the organization
Ability to take on additional responsibilities as the group expands
Knowledge of Transfer Agent, Registrars, Custody Operations and Foreign Exchange functions
6-8 years of relevant work experience - working with Fund Administrators, Custodians, Hedge Funds or Fund of Funds
Knowledge of High Water Mark, Side Pockets, Incentive Fees, Management Fees and Liquidity in the Hedge Fund or Fund of Funds business a plus
Experience in FX hedging execution, settlement and monitoring a plus
Experience working with Compliance/Legal on investment documentation and AML standards a plus
