Position: Senior Accounts Payable Analyst
Industry: Technology / E-commerce & Supply Chain
Location: Midtown, Manhattan (Hybrid)
Type: Temporary-to-Perm (6+ months)
Rate: $33/hour, up to $72k per year
Position OverviewJoin a fast-growing technology company that is transforming e-commerce and supply chain platforms for the global diamond industry. The Senior Accounts Payable Analyst will oversee the full AP lifecycle, focusing on process accuracy, analytical review, and connecting AP activity to the broader financial picture. This role supports both accounting and finance functions, with exposure to the three key financial statements and opportunities to lead process improvements and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities- Manage high-volume invoice processing (200+ per week), ensuring accurate coding, approval routing, and SAP integration.
- Supervise and mentor junior AP staff, providing training, oversight, and soft leadership in day-to-day operations.
- Oversee the non-merchandise (non-inventory) side of the business
, ensuring timely vendor payments and expense accuracy. - Perform detailed reconciliations and analytical reviews, tying AP balances to the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
. - Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and E-commerce teams to support month-end close, accruals, and reporting accuracy.
- Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance documentation for all accounts.
- Support SAP and Quick Books system integration and assist in process automation initiatives.
- Contribute to financial analysis and variance explanations related to AP trends, expenses, and accruals.
- Prepare and review weekly cash requirement reports and payment runs for Treasury.
- Participate in audit preparation, year-end reporting (1099s), and ad hoc accounting projects.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and the relationship between AP and the three financial statements.
- Experience in technology, manufacturing, or e-commerce industries preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP and Quick Books; system migration exposure a plus.
- Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, data analysis, and reconciliation).
- Working knowledge of SAP modules and general ledger structures.
- Strong organizational and analytical mindset with excellent problem‑solving ability.
- Clear communicator who can effectively liaise across accounting, operations, and vendor teams.
- Leadership qualities with prior experience supervising or mentoring team members.
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- CPA or similar coursework preferred but not required.
