Position SummaryAs a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various financial functions related to insurance operations and primary duties include financial close activities.
Essential Duties- Responsible for monthly financial close activities including preparation of journal entries.
- Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts and verify that all reconciling items are researched and resolved.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly variances analysis for management reporting.
- Assist in documenting internal processes/controls and developing improvements as appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
- Liaison with managing general agents and third-party administrators.
- Other duties and projects assigned.
- Accounting degree required.
- P&C Insurance Industry Experience required.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including nested formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and Index Match.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and interact effectively with various management levels.
- Excellent prioritization and follow-through skills.
In New York City, NY the pay range for the role is $90,000 - $105,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. In addition, Hudson offers a comprehensive benefits package. This range is specific to New York City, NY and may not be applicable to other locations.
