Location: New York

Blacklock is representing a top-tier investment bank in the search for an Investment Banking Analyst to join its Life Sciences Mergers & Acquisitions team in New York.

Role Overview

The Analyst will work closely with senior bankers on the execution of M&A transactions and strategic advisory assignments for leading biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostics, and healthcare services companies. This position offers hands-on transaction experience, meaningful client exposure, and deep specialization within the life sciences sector.

Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, strategic alternatives, and related advisory assignments
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF analyses, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and merger models
  • Prepare marketing and execution materials such as pitch books, confidential information memoranda, and management presentations
  • Conduct in-depth company, industry, and scientific research across life sciences subsectors
  • Analyze financial statements, operating metrics, pipelines, and valuation drivers specific to life sciences businesses
  • Assist with due diligence coordination, data room management, and interaction with legal, accounting, and other advisors
  • Work closely with Associates, Vice Presidents, and senior team members in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials
  • 1–3 years of investment banking experience, or relevant experience in consulting, equity research, or corporate finance (life sciences exposure preferred)
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated interest in life sciences, healthcare, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism, work ethic, and ownership mentality
