What You’ll Be DoingThe role will be critical to assisting the CLO desk with client analysis and relationships as well as providing marketing product for the sales force to discuss and distribute to clients. This information should have direct positive impact on the desk’s P&L. This candidate will be responsible for maintaining blotters, sending out status updates, and working with the Issuers and the Team to come up with Deal Price Talk.
This role will also work closely with our Warehouse Team in Toronto to discuss the CLO warehouses. As the U.S. GCF team grows, it is possible this role may expand to other products.
- Follow and analyze CLO Market
- Learn CLO Documentation
- Work with the sales force to meet clients, and build relationships
- Work with structuring leads to learn about different CLO Deal structures
- Work with managers to analyze portfolios
- Learn how to come up with price talk
- Work with Syndicate Head to achieve optimal results on our deals
- Help differentiate CIBC and elevate our research profile.

You can demonstrate experience with:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in related field (Economics, Finance, Business, Computer Science)
- Series 7 and 63 is required.
- Thorough understanding of the financial markets and market influences, including general current affairs.
- Ability to deal with the inherent conflict between the sales and trading functions, and maintain a strong position in the face of opposition.
- Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients and staff.
- Ability to relay complex news/developments in a concise/clear manner.
- Ability to work under pressure.
