Corporate Development Lead, QBE Insurance Corporation, New York, NY:
Maintain inventory of corporate development opportunities, ranking areas of growth by capital intensity and premium rate environment. Support key corporate development projects and operating plans by aligning tasks with growth strategy and ensuring cohesive project execution. Lead research to identify business and economic trends, understand the competitive landscape, and uncover opportunities for business expansion. Plan and coordinate key projects and submissions under the direction of the Division CFO, seeking stakeholder input and providing feedback for consistent messaging.
Create clear and concise executive-level presentations outlining new opportunities, including strategic fit, financial analysis, and risk profile for relevant stakeholders. Facilitate periodic reviews of corporate, growth, product, and transaction strategies, including vision, goals, and metrics. Perform valuation analysis, financial modelling, and quantitative analysis to recommend opportunity advancement. Develop and prepare financial models, including earnings, capital, and liquidity, for proforma analysis of key growth scenarios.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives to ensure alignment across the business and create strong partnerships with business leaders.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week, $ per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Actuarial Science, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the insurance industry.
Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in all of the following:
- Performing comprehensive and exhaustive analyses to prepare and deliver executive-level communications conveying key messages;
- Financial modeling, which must include financial projection of earnings, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows to establish business/company value; and
- Strategy framework utilization involving SWOT analysis, assessment of capabilities required to win, and peer benchmarking and competitive analysis.
Domestic travel required up to 15% to support transactions and strategic project work.
