We are seeking a versatile Senior Risk Manager to join our US risk management team. You will be responsible for risk governance (frameworks, policies, etc) and integrated risk management (financial and non-financial risks). Reporting to the US CRO, the ideal candidate brings the discipline of a top-tier Bank or FCM (Futures Commission Merchant) and the adaptability to apply those standards to the digital asset ecosystem.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Work directly with the US CRO to implement and evolve the US Risk Management Framework to ensure compliance with US regulatory standards (e.g., CFTC, NFA, SEC).
- Draft, review, and update risk policies, standards, and operating procedures, ensuring they remain fit-for-purpose as the business scales and US regulations evolve.
- Serve as the secretary for the US Risk Committee; prepare meeting packs, produce and analyze key risk indicators (KRIs), and track remediation actions.
- Work closely with risk colleagues in financial risk (market, credit, liquidity) to develop risk controls, limits, and monitoring routines.
- Facilitate the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process across the US business lines to identify, assess, and mitigate key operational risks.
- Act as the US risk liaison in the new product approval process, identifying new products risks and ensuring products are tailored appropriately for the US market.
- Actively support various license application processes by drafting necessary submission materials, responding to regulatory inquiries, and demonstrating robust risk controls.
- Define, track, and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide early warning of changing risk profiles or control weaknesses.
- Act as the bridge between the US entity and the global Risk function, ensuring local regulatory requirements are met while leveraging global infrastructure and resources efficiently.
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Economics, Math, Statistics, or Finance; MBA, CFA, and/or FRM/PRM a plus.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in Risk Management at a large Bank, FCM (Futures Commission Merchant), or Broker-Dealer; prior experience in a risk governance role a plus.
- Strong knowledge of US regulations (CFTC, NFA, SEC) and an understanding of the scrutiny required during the licensing phase.
- Exceptional written communication skills; ability to draft comprehensive and sound policy documents and procedures that stand up to external scrutiny.
- Proven track record of success within a large, multinational financial institution.
- Ability to navigate complex reporting lines and balance local US regulatory mandates with global corporate strategy.
