Hedge Fund Assistant Controller

Overview

Controller opening with a boutique hedge fund & family office in NYC. The role is newly created due to growth and will be the first in-house dedicated finance/accounting hire, with the opportunity to make a real impact.

They are looking for someone who is motivated, can work autonomously, and can operate in a tight-knit and family-oriented environment. Experience with accounting for Fixed Income, Bonds, and P&L strongly preferred.

Office details: 4x a week in office (flexibility as needed); as long as you get your work done they are very relaxed. Office in Midtown. Very down to earth and family-oriented environment. Report directly to the firm s founder. Very flat structure. Most accounting/ops is outsourced to a third party, with more of a review function in-house.

• Oversee all accounting and tax for the hedge fund and feeders
• Be primary point with fund admin on monthly navs and subscription/redemption activity
• Oversee daily cash and position reconciliation for the fund
• P&L oversight and troubleshoot issues
• Oversee trade breaks
• Management Co and GP accounting and tax
• Provide annual budget to partners with intimate understanding of firmwide costs
• Oversee client onboarding and quarterly invoicing
• Help with technology automation and streamlining

• Experience with accounting for Fixed Income, Bonds, and P&L strongly preferred
• Ability to work autonomously in a flat, family-oriented environment
• Comfort working with outsourced accounting functions and performing in-house review
