About the RoleThe organization is looking for a Senior Vice President (SVP) to lead its Commercial Banking portfolio within the Banking & Capital Markets (B&CM) division. This is a senior executive leadership position with full responsibility for strategy, revenue growth, client engagement, and portfolio expansion across global commercial banking clients.
The SVP will play a key role in defining and executing the organization’s commercial banking go-to-market strategy, leveraging analytics, AI, and digital transformation to help banks enhance credit performance, operational efficiency, risk management, and customer profitability. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior banking leaders, this executive will convert market trends and client needs into scalable, results-driven solutions.
This role offers significant autonomy and impact and requires strong commercial judgment, deep domain expertise in commercial banking, and the ability to build and lead high-performing global teams.
Key Responsibilities- Own and deliver the Commercial Banking growth strategy within the Banking & Capital Markets division.
- Drive revenue growth, portfolio expansion, and P&L ownership across commercial and mid-market banking clients.
- Identify and scale opportunities across:
- Commercial & SME lending
- Credit underwriting and portfolio management
- Risk, compliance, and regulatory reporting
- Commercial banking operations and servicing
- Treasury, payments, and client lifecycle management
- Develop differentiated, repeatable solutions aligned with changing regulatory and market requirements.
- Define and lead go-to-market strategies for commercial banking solutions across priority regions.
- Build and sustain C-suite and senior executive relationships with Heads of Commercial Banking, Credit, Risk, Operations, and Technology.
- Lead strategic pursuits, solution development, pricing, and commercial negotiations for large, long-term engagements.
- Drive high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
- Lead analytics-driven and AI-enabled transformation initiatives for commercial banking clients.
- Partner with analytics, data science, and digital teams to deliver solutions in areas such as:
- Credit risk and underwriting analytics
- Early warning systems and portfolio monitoring
- Commercial loan operations optimization
- Customer segmentation, pricing, and profitability analytics
- Regulatory, stress testing, and risk reporting
- Ensure analytics initiatives are clearly tied to measurable business outcomes such as growth, efficiency, and risk reduction.
- Build, mentor, and lead senior leaders and global delivery teams across consulting, analytics, and operations.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Attract, develop, and retain strong domain and analytics talent to support long-term portfolio success.
- Ensure all client engagements adhere to banking regulations, risk frameworks, and data privacy standards.
- Work closely with internal legal, compliance, and risk partners to maintain strong governance and delivery controls.
- Encourage best practices in information security, model risk management, and operational resilience.
- Enhance the organization’s profile in commercial banking through industry events, forums, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Contribute to the organization’s perspective on the future of commercial banking transformation within Banking & Capital Markets.
- 20+ years of experience in Commercial Banking, Banking Operations, or Financial Services Consulting.
- Deep expertise across:
- Commercial and mid-market lending
- Credit underwriting and portfolio risk
- Commercial banking operations and servicing
- Regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Proven track record in portfolio leadership, P&L management, go-to-market execution, and driving multi-million-dollar revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of analytics, AI, automation, and digital transformation in banking.
- Outstanding executive communication, stakeholder management, and people leadership capabilities.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree from a leading institution.
- Experience in global consulting, analytics, digital services firms, or commercial banking organizations.
- Exposure to large-scale transformation programs across North America, Europe, or APAC.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional, and geographically distributed teams.
