Overview
Join Barclays as an Equity Research Fintech, AVP, where you’ll have the chance to collaborate with senior analysts to produce comprehensive research reports and presentations while monitoring market trends, economic indicators, and company news to update and refine investment solutions. You will also engage with institutional clients to communicate the research findings and provide strategic recommendations.
Responsibilities- Produce and deliver Research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays Clients.
- Develop investment theses based on analysis of market, sector, corporate and economic data.
- Prepare reports and presentations ranging from individual company notes to long-dated thematic research, and present views to Barclays Clients through direct interactions, events, or written communications.
- Engage with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders to raise awareness of your Research with priority attention to the most relevant Clients.
- Provide insights and Research views to internal Clients to help navigate financial markets and risks.
- Collaborate with Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure Research is produced and delivered in a compliant manner.
- Ability to conduct detailed analysis and valuation of companies
- Proficiency in financial modelling and interpreting highly detailed financial statements
- Deep understanding of the specific industry or sector being covered
- Solid written and verbal communication
- The ability to effectively convey research investment recommendations to clients
- Familiarity with financial software and databases such as Bloomberg, and advanced Excel
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with institutional clients
- Ability to lead projects and mentor junior analysts
- FINRA licensing: SIE, S63, S86, S87
- CFA Level
- This role is located in New York, NY.
- This role is regulated by FINRA.
- Minimum Salary: $125,000
- Maximum Salary: $175,000
- The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
- Purpose of the role - To produce and deliver Research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays Clients.
- Accountabilities - Analysis of market, sector, corporate and/or economic data to help develop investment theses for your coverage universe to produce best in class Research.
- Research may range from individual company or sector notes to long-dated thematic reports.
- Present Research views to Barclays Clients; this can be through direct, face-to-face and virtual interactions, Research hosted events and written communications.
- Engage with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders to raise awareness of your Research both to Clients and internally; prioritize interaction with the most relevant Clients.
- Provide insights and Research views to internal Clients to help navigate financial markets and risks.
- Collaborate with Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure Research is delivered to Clients in a compliant manner.
- To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness; collaborate with other functions/ business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks with professional knowledge to impact the whole business function; set objectives and coach employees toward those objectives.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver to a consistently excellent standard.
- For individual contributors, lead collaborative assignments and guide team members, identifying cross-functional needs to complete assignments.
- Consult on complex issues to support resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures for control and governance.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls related to the work.
- Collaborate with other areas to coordinate activities with the business strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively.
- Communicate complex information clearly to stakeholders.
- Influence or persuade stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
