Fund Accountant

A Private Equity Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Fund Accountant.

• Review and validate the fund administrator’s quarterly financial close work, including financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
• Oversee the investor capital call and distribution process, including review and approval of investor allocations, management fees, and carried interest calculations
• Coordinate with the management company team to ensure accurate allocation of fund fees and expenses
• Support quarterly tax reporting, filings, and payment processes
• Prepare quarterly fund performance reports and assist with performance-related analyses for internal and external presentations
• Assist in preparing and coordinating year-end audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure timely completion
• Respond to ad hoc requests from internal stakeholders, investors, and external service providers
• Collaborate with investment and operations teams to maintain consistent and accurate financial data across systems and reports
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation in financial reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4–7 years of experience in public accounting, or a combination of public and private accounting
• Experience working with fund accounting clients, particularly in private equity or credit
• Strong knowledge of fund structures, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance
