Risk Manager/Analyst
This AVP & Actuary, Longevity Pricing, is responsible for leading the pricing and execution of new US-based Longevity reinsurance transactions within our rapidly expanding Alternative Solutions division. You will be accountable for setting the strategic direction for the U.S. Longevity portfolio, developing new solutions, and overseeing pricing for all U.S. Longevity reinsurance opportunities.
Success in this position requires strong technical capabilities, a deep understanding of Pension Risk Transfer and annuity products, and ability to lead a team.
Your Job Transaction PricingYou will take ownership of pricing activities across a range of transaction types, including traditional reinsurance, pension risk transfer, mergers and acquisitions, in force block transactions, and product development. Core responsibilities include:
- Reviewing RFP materials to develop pricing assumptions and reinsurance structures.
- Working closely with biometrics, analytics, and underwriting teams to deeply understand key biometric risks.
- Presenting and defending pricing results to senior stakeholders—such as the head of pricing and risk management—to obtain transaction approval.
- Partnering with Munich Re’s global teams, where applicable, to design appropriate offshore reinsurance solutions.
- Build internal alignment and support for expanding into new features, structures, and markets.
- Monitor profitability and business performance to inform future pricing efforts.
- Support business development initiatives by preparing materials that showcase Munich Re’s expertise and capabilities.
- Define and execute strategic objectives to grow the U.S. Longevity business in line with Munich Re’s risk appetite and long‑term vision.
- Lead pricing and analytical work on complex technical projects, such as mortality table development and improvement analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, Accounting
- 10+ years Actuarial employment in the life insurance/reinsurance industry
- FSA designation
- Pricing and product development experience preferred
- Experience working with a modeling software and interpreting results
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience managing a team of actuaries and students.
- Ability to conceptualize and implement business solutions regarding actuarial issues
- Technical proficiency – with the ability and interest to learn new skills and successfully transfer existing skills to others in the group.

For New York City based employees, the base salary range anticipated for this position is $261,596 to $289,132 plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
