Overview
Commercial Bank Sponsor Finance Group Manager manages a team of senior professionals. The role requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the Private Equity sector, relevant theory and practice, and practical experience across multiple business cycles. Deep market knowledge and awareness of competitors' products/services are necessary to contribute to the business's commercial objectives. The role involves strategic direction of the function, strong communication skills, and involvement in internal and external negotiations with potential impact on the area managed and related units.
Responsibilities- Actively call on clients in partnership with Investment Bank and Relationship Managers to deepen relationships, respond to and anticipate needs, challenges or risks, and identify and pursue new clients aligned with Citi's value proposition.
- Serve as a senior expert within NAM Commercial Bank on lending into leverage finance capital structures and financing sponsor transactions.
- Drive innovation in client solutions while structuring deals to balance risk and reward.
- Act as strategic advisor to clients and the organization.
- Attract, retain and motivate a team; manage budget and sales goals.
- Set business strategy and lead execution of initiatives.
- Ensure regulatory and Citi policy compliance at all times.
- May create and implement broader strategy across segments or geographies.
- Assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup’s reputation and assets, escalate and manage control issues, and supervise others to maintain standards.
- 15+ years private equity, leverage finance lending and/or commercial banking experience, with increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated success driving business results through effective sales management.
- Proven track record of leading teams through complex change; strong talent development.
- Proven track record of initiating and growing complex client relationships.
- FINRA licenses SIE, S24, S63 and S79.
- Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree; managerial experience.
