Assistant Controller- Hedge Fund

Top Tier Credit Hedge Fund, CT based looking for an Assistant Controller to join the team

• Participate in the preparation of annual fund financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Perform detailed financial statement reviews, tie-outs to supporting work papers, and provide value added comments for multiple funds (stand alone, master-feeder, and fund-of-funds), and corporate trading entities.
• Create documentation for fund processes / policies and procedures / new funds. Perform accounting research
• Prepare daily trader P&L, including pricing verification, corporate action processing, P&L analysis and attribution
• Liaise with internal resources (Investor Relations, Middle Office, etc.) and external fund administrator, corporate service providers and external auditors to ensure we meet our daily, monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual closes of the corporate trading related entities
• Monthly valuation sign-off and trader P&L account management
• Security Master maintenance
• Review trader and firm currency and market exposure
• Position requires extensive interaction with traders, trade support, counter parties and internal support departments (Operations, Risk, Legal, Treasury, Investor Relations, Software Development as well as with external Fund Accountants and Auditors)

• 4-10 yrs out of in trade operations or fund accounting role at a fund
• CPA is a plus
• Advanced technical skills
