Job Description

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted area that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading, and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation. Collateral Management, part of Margin, Valuations & Pricing Operations, sits within the Goldman Sachs Liquidity Collateral & Optimization organization and focuses on the mitigation of counter party credit risk through active monitoring of clients’ derivative and securities financing portfolios.

Responsibilities

An employee within MCVO will primarily focus on the mitigation of counter party credit risk through operational processes, demonstrating innovation and a proactive approach to highlight inefficiencies, risks, and implement improvements. The role includes providing high‑level service to clients and interacting closely with Credit Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, Sales, Trading, Controllers, Middle Office, Client Representatives, Central Clearing Services, and other Operations departments.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functional areas are essential.

How To Fulfill Your Potential
  • Extensive external interaction with clients, vendors, and central clearing counter parties (CCPs)
  • Communicate and escalade issues internally and externally
  • Liaise with clients and internal counterparts to track and resolve position discrepancies, breaks, and disputes; define go‑live timelines and expectations
  • Perform control functions to ensure the integrity of processes
  • Manage risk and day‑to‑day functional responsibilities, including regulatory compliance
  • Review and enhance current processes to realize efficiencies and better manage embedded risk
  • Participate in projects beyond core responsibilities
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 0–3 years of experience
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Client‑facing role requiring strong communication skills and a high appreciation of client service
  • Flexibility to manage differing challenges and the increasingly complex nature of transactions
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast‑moving environment; team‑oriented approach to workload sharing and skill leverage
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to cope with rapidly changing priorities throughout the day
  • Strong attention to detail and multi‑tasking skills to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with/ability to learn Excel macros and other functions
  • Good working knowledge of product flows and systems, including OTC derivatives, cleared business, prime brokerage, and intercompany processes
  • Prior experience with collateral management functions, systems, flows, products, and client base
  • Evidence of experience working within Financial Services with exposure to over‑the‑counter derivatives
  • Languages will be beneficial as the Analyst will interact with clients from across Europe
Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States‑based position is $70,000–$95,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year‑end.
