Location: New York

Coda Search is working with a top-tier global asset manager overseeing more than $100BN in assets with offices in NYC. The team is seeking to hire a VP for its middle office team who will be hands-on within the corporate actions function, owning complex events end-to-end while partnering closely with portfolio management, trading, operations, fund accounting, and external service providers. The role offers broad visibility across the firm and exposure to senior stakeholders.

This is a highly visible position at a world-class investment platform with strong internal mobility and long-term growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Own the lifecycle of global corporate actions across equities, fixed income, and structured products, including mandatory and voluntary events
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-risk events, ensuring accurate interpretation and execution
  • Partner with trading desks, portfolio managers, operations, and fund accounting to assess financial and operational impact of events
  • Lead the election process for voluntary events and ensure deadlines and instructions are met across custodians and agents
  • Oversee reconciliations between internal systems, custodians, and accounting platforms; investigate and resolve breaks
  • Produce management-level reporting on corporate action activity, trends, and risk exposure
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, controls, and automation projects across the middle office
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, setting best practices and operating standards
  • Assist with any ad-hoc projects across the group
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate actions, middle office, or operations within asset management, hedge funds, banks, or custodians
  • Strong experience partnering with custodians, prime brokers, and market data vendors
  • Proven ability to manage complex workflows and lead through ambiguity
  • Excellent communication skills with experience interacting with front office and senior stakeholders
