The Director of Project Finance will lead financial analysis and valuation of distributed generation (DG) renewable energy projects across the company’s development and acquisition pipeline. This individual will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing financial models to evaluate project and portfolio economics, support investment decisions, and collaborate with structured finance, development, and M&A teams to drive transaction execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and refine detailed project finance models for DG solar and storage projects at various stages of development.
  • Perform valuation analyses for greenfield, brownfield, and acquisition opportunities using DCF, IRR, and sensitivity methodologies.
  • Model cash flows under different scenarios, including capital structure variations, PPA structures, merchant exposure, and incentive mechanisms.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of key project inputs—CAPEX, OPEX, interconnection costs, degradation, and performance assumptions.
  • Ensure modeling accuracy and consistency with company standards and investor requirements.
Transaction & Financing Support
  • Partner closely with the Structured Finance team to prepare projects for financing, providing valuation support and sensitivity analyses.
  • Support term sheet negotiations by assessing impacts on project returns, capital costs, and risk allocation.
  • Prepare financial materials, investment memos, and presentations for internal investment committees and external investors.
  • Collaborate with legal, technical, and development teams to ensure all key assumptions align with commercial realities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • 8–12 years of experience in project finance, investment analysis, or renewable energy development.
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling and valuation for distributed generation or utility-scale renewable assets.
  • Strong understanding of project economics, PPA structures, and capital cost drivers.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy tax incentives, including ITC/PTC.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
