Analyst - Algorithmic Trading & Market Analytics

South Street Securities LLC is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us on the GX2 Algorithm Trading & Market Analytics team. The Analyst will work from the South Street Securities headquarters at 1155 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY.

Our cutting‑edge trading systems are integral to our clients’ success, ensuring efficient and effective trading operations.

As an Algorithmic Trading & Market Analytics Analyst, your role will include development and support for senior leadership across trading, sales, technology and quantitative analytics. The individual will be responsible for research and development projects in both market‑related studies and their application to the front‑line technology of GX2 Systems. Additionally, the successful candidate will support both the digital and analog trading frameworks for South Street Securities’ internal trading desks and external clients.

• Support the sales, trading & technology functions of GX2 Systems and South Street Securities
• Acquire comprehensive system‑algorithm knowledge and develop a deep understanding of the constituent markets thoroughly and in‑depth.
• Complete a rigorous internal training program in qualitative and quantitative fixed income markets, with an emphasis on trading.
• Support both digital and analog trading frameworks in a sales‑trader capacity, serving South Street Securities’ external users and internal trading desks.
• Analyze performance and TCA results, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
• Conduct market studies, data analysis and statistical inference within a robust, well‑structured analytical framework.

• Candidates should have 0–2 years of work experience.
• Front‑office experience is not required; however, experience in risk management, operations, product control, treasury and liquidity management, trade support, quant‑IT, strategy or research is preferred.
• Candidates should hold a STEM degree in fields such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, the natural sciences, economics or econometrics.
• Bachelor’s degrees in finance, accounting or related fields with a strong technical emphasis are also acceptable.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• FINRA registration (or willingness to complete).

• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Proficiency in R programming.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Bloomberg Desktop API with Python, R and Excel.
• Proficiency in additional programming languages or analytical applications such as C#, MATLAB, S, EViews or similar tools.
