Summary

Location:

New York City Office, United States You will lead a diverse team of consultants and experts to deliver turnaround management, restructuring, performance improvement, and corporate advisory services. Your mandate is to help under‑performing businesses navigate their restructuring process, stabilize operations, and create lasting positive impact.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute restructuring and turnaround plans to improve an organization’s performance and enterprise value.
  • Provide day‑to‑day team management to ensure plans, budgets, and schedules are adhered to.
  • Act as point of contact for key work streams within client engagements.
  • Oversee analysis of company business plans and present 13‑week cash‑flow and three‑statement financial models to clients.
  • Lead clients through working‑capital improvements, bankruptcy preparation, liquidation analysis, credit‑agreement negotiations, and claims processing.
  • Assess key business operational performance drivers and develop sensitized business plans to aid management.
  • Design and execute cost‑reduction initiatives and monitor execution milestones.
  • Review bankruptcy plans, strategies, disclosure statements, and 363 sales processes.
  • Implement cash‑conservation guidelines and controls.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate junior staff.
Qualifications
  • At least 10+ years of work experience in corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking, consulting, or corporate finance roles with a financial or accounting focus, 5+ years directly in restructuring.
  • BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related analytical and quantitative fields.
  • Understanding of the fundamental aspects of a Chapter 11 proceeding.
  • Professional certifications such as CTP, CIRA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills required.
  • Ability to identify key operational performance drivers, forecast cash flow, and provide flexible support across a broad range of client issues.
  • Proven experience leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present comprehensive business plans.
  • Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Team player capable of thriving in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to establish credibility and influence clients.

Benefits

The salary range is $200,000 – $225,000 annually, dependent on several variables including education, experience, skills, and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. In addition, regular employees receive a range of fringe benefits, including health care plans, flexible spending & savings accounts, life, AD&D, disability coverages, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a discretionary contribution from Alvarez & Marsal.

Employees are eligible for paid time off, vacation, personal days, sick time, federal holidays, a floating holiday, and parental leave.
