Tax Manager
Location:
Manhasset, NY, 4 days onsite
Salary: $150k-180k base
This is a unique and high-impact opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to manage both a sophisticated Corporate Tax function and the Private Wealth/Family Office tax strategy for a prominent organization.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Tax Manager will lead all aspects of domestic and international compliance, strategic planning, and intergenerational wealth transfer. This role is ideal for a proactive, technically deep expert who excels in managing complexity—from global transfer pricing to high-net-worth estate planning.
Key Responsibilities Corporate Tax & Global Strategy- Compliance Leadership: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returns for all corporate entities.
- Operational Optimization: Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s effective tax rate, cash flow, and cross-border cash repatriation strategies.
- International Oversight: Manage global transfer pricing documentation and ensure strict compliance with international tax regulations.
- Strategic Advisory: Act as the internal consultant for senior leadership on the tax implications of new market entries, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Audit & Controls: Coordinate with external advisors and auditors for annual filings; maintain and enhance internal controls over tax reporting.
- Generational Planning: Collaborate with family office and legal advisors to develop tax-efficient structures for trusts, estates, and philanthropic entities.
- Wealth Transfer: Provide technical input on gift and estate tax planning and generational wealth transfer strategies.
- Investment Vehicles: Oversee compliance and tax efficiency for family-owned investment vehicles, partnerships, and asset protection initiatives.
- Discretion & Governance: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality while handling sensitive family financial matters and long-term planning goals.
- Education & Certification: CPA designation or Master’s degree with a specialization in Taxation is preferred
- Professional
Experience:
7–10 years of progressive tax experience, including a background in Corporate Tax. - Technical Expertise: Proven experience with international tax, transfer pricing regulations, and the nuances of trust and estate taxation.
- Analytical Rigor: Exceptional ability to analyze complex financial data and translate tax legislation into actionable business strategy.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to diverse stakeholders, including senior executives and family members
