OpportunityAs a Senior Consultant, you will lead actuarial advisory engagement teams, manage client engagements, mentor team members, and build your personal brand as a field leader. You will provide the knowledge our clients need to execute strategies and resolve complex issues in our financial modeling practice.
Key Responsibilities- Lead client engagement teams in financial modeling projects, including model development, optimization, validation, efficiency assessment, actuarial transformation, M&A, financial and regulatory reporting.
- Mentor and develop junior consultants, provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, risk, and stakeholder communication.
- High-quality work product delivery within time frames and budget.
- Strong business acumen, innovative solution development, leadership.
- Business development and client relationship management.
- In-depth technical capabilities and rapid assimilation of new knowledge.
- Excellent communication of complex actuarial issues; adherence to professional standards.
- Personal brand development and EY brand promotion.
- Inclusive team environment, mentoring junior consultants, coaching.
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related major.
- 3+ years of relevant actuarial modeling experience.
- Experience with at least one actuarial modeling software platform (Moodys GGY AXIS, FIS Prophet, Milliman ALFA/Integrate, Aon Benfield Path Wise, Slope, Poly Systems, etc.).
- Strong writing, presentation, analytical, project management, interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shifting projects under pressure.
- Willingness to travel to meet client needs.
- Experience with two key platform library coding modules for actuarial modeling.
- Solution design and translation of business requirements into modeling solutions.
- Model staging, development, coding, data transformation, batch creation, automation, assumption management, output manipulation.
- Model change management, unit and user acceptance testing processes.
- Knowledge of US life, health, annuity products and regulatory reporting (STAT/GAAP, VM-22).
- Asset modeling and ALM related concepts.
- Open-source coding paradigms (Python, R, Julia, etc.).
- Project management experience with teams and stakeholders.
Intellectually curious actuaries with a clear passion for actuarial work, strong communicator, flexible in rapidly changing projects.
