About the RoleWe’re looking for a strategic, hands‑on leader to join our team as Director /VP of Financial & Operational Performance. In this critical role, you’ll partner with cross‑functional teams and portfolio company leadership to drive financial discipline, improve operational execution, and unlock long‑term value. You’ll bring structure, insight, and accountability to high‑growth businesses, supporting investment theses from acquisition through exit.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and refinement of financial and operational reporting frameworks to support data‑driven decision‑making.
- Define, track, and optimize KPIs aligned with investment strategies and business goals.
- Support monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes across portfolio companies.
- Identify and implement financial and operational improvements that enhance value creation.
- Evaluate and improve finance functions within portfolio companies, establishing best practices in governance and performance management.
- Build and execute post‑close 100‑day integration plans to ensure operational alignment.
- Monitor financial performance of portfolio companies, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with external consultants, advisors, and expert networks.
- Collaborate closely with investment teams and company leadership to deliver on strategic initiatives.
- Proven experience in finance and operations, ideally in private equity‑backed companies, consulting, or a structured leadership role (military or otherwise).
- Demonstrated success driving value creation aligned with investment objectives.
- Deep expertise in forecasting, budgeting, KPI development, and performance analysis.
- Experience leading post‑acquisition integrations and executing 100‑day plans.
- Familiarity with ERP and financial systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong understanding of internal controls, process improvements, and scaling finance in growth environments.
- Experience assessing and upgrading talent in finance and operations.
- Comfortable influencing C‑level executives and boards with a confident, data‑driven communication style.
