LocationHybrid; preference for Atlanta, Chicago, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, or New York. Open to other Oliver Wyman Actuarial office locations.
Job OverviewAs an Analyst, you will work alongside experienced consultants across a broad range of client projects, gaining interaction and visibility with leading insurance companies, provider health systems, state regulators, and private equity firms.
Responsibilities- Medicare Bid Support:
Assist bid development for Medicare Advantage products including product development, modeling, and analysis - Commercial Pricing Support:
Assist pricing of health insurance products for ACA small group, individual, and large group markets - Medical and Pharmacy Claims Analysis:
Support claim-line level analytics including benchmarking to applicable industry experience - Market Simulation Analyses:
Support analyses of proposed federal and state legislation - Regulatory Support:
Examine impact of regulatory changes and assist clients with implementation - Provider Contract Analysis:
Evaluate provider contracts and impact of changes on rates - Value-based Care:
Analyze value-based care and other risk-taking arrangements from both payer and provider perspectives - Evaluation of care management programs
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of actuarial experience
- Progress toward Associate of the Society of Actuaries credentials
- Track record of rapid learning, high performance, and professional growth
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Ability to work independently on client projects and intellectual capital development
- Understanding of collaboration and teamwork
- Deep critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Highly motivated and willing to work in a dynamic environment
- Strong skills with MS Excel, SAS, SQL, R, VBA, or other programming languages
- Base salary range $70,000–$100,000 USD, determined by experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and applicable minimum wage requirements
