Overview
We partner with regulated organizations seeking a Director of Financial Risk & Governance to lead and support enterprise risk management, financial governance, and compliance oversight initiatives. This role focuses on strengthening governance frameworks, managing financial risk exposure, and supporting regulatory and audit-driven programs across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead financial risk and governance initiatives aligned with regulatory and compliance expectations
- Develop and maintain risk governance frameworks, policies, and control structures
- Partner with Finance, Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams to assess and mitigate financial risk
- Support regulatory exams, audits, and internal reviews related to financial governance
- Oversee risk assessments, issue management, and remediation efforts
- Provide guidance on risk reporting, governance documentation, and executive-level communications
- Monitor regulatory developments impacting financial risk and governance practices
- Advise senior stakeholders on emerging financial risk trends and governance considerations
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field required
- 8–12+ years of experience in financial risk management, governance, compliance, or audit roles
- Prior experience in a leadership or oversight capacity strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial risk frameworks, governance models, and regulatory expectations
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory examinations, or risk committees
- Background in financial services, insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
$170,000–$220,000 base salary, depending on experience and market
