Head of Portfolio Steering

• Collaborate with the Chief Pricing Actuary to design the Pricing Review Group framework and establish a consistent process for analyzing portfolio performance.
• Lead the quarterly portfolio steering process, coordinating the delivery of analysis packs, identifying drivers of results and proposing focus areas for action.
• Work with pricing teams to cascade actions from performance reviews to individual accounts.
• Coordinate pricing input into the Quarterly Business Review, linking underwriting performance to financial outcomes.
• Build systematic line‑of‑business deep‑dives, creating a schedule and consistent format zware.
• Support pricing teams in providing consistent inputs to the Group Planning process and, if required, the Lloyd’s planning process.
• Assist in establishing a consistent performance‑management process for delegated business.
• Collaborate with the Head of Pricing Data & Analytics to develop components of the pricing data & analytics strategy supporting portfolio steering.
• Contribute to building pricing capabilities within the wider CUO office.
• Optionally support pricing teams with account pricing during peak renewal periods, depending on experience.
• Provide thought leadership on emerging portfolio‑steering priorities such as cycle management.
• Support the Chief Pricing Actuary in delivering portfolio insights to the board, producing exhibits and commentary for committee and board papers.

• Knowledge of the global corporate and specialty (re) insurance sector; understanding of reinsurance and delegated business a plus.
• Prior experience in portfolio steering, performance management or FP&A roles, or with pricing actuaries and underwriters.
• Proven ability to distill qualitative and quantitative information into clear, actionable insights.
• Insurance consulting experience or equivalent advantageous.
• Experience  with clear presentation and actionable recommendations for senior audiences.

• Advanced PowerPoint and MI presentation skills.
• Ability to deliver insight from small, messy, or non‑standard data sets.
• Strong Excel skills; knowledge of modern visualization tools such as Power BI a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with ability to operate in an international environment.

Estimated annual salary range: $200,000 – $250,000 USD.
