TAX SUPERVISOR (AEC - ARCHITECTURE/ENGINEERING/CONSTRUCTION) About the job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns specific to the AEC industry.
  • Ensure compliance with industry‑specific tax regulations, including construction‑specific tax issues.
  • Manage tax audits, including preparing necessary documentation and liaising with tax authorities.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures for the AEC group.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax‑related financial information and maintain comprehensive records of all tax filings and transactions.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions for AEC clients.
  • Identify tax incentives and credits applicable to the AEC industry and advise clients on their utilization.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation and its implications for the AEC industry.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals while providing training and support to ensure the team’s professional growth and performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting and compliance within the AEC group.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred.
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in tax, with a focus on the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
  • Great analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
