Vice President Payroll & Total Rewards Role Description

Under the direction of the Corporate Controller, the Global Payroll Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing our domestic and foreign payroll functions:

  • Preparation of bi-monthly US-based payroll (ADP/Workday)
  • Relationship manager for all payroll vendors/providers across jurisdictions.
  • Ongoing interaction in support of processing payroll runs
  • Project manager for transition of and onboarding of new payroll providers
  • Assist with implementing payrolls for new office location launches
  • Point person for any employee payroll related queries, inclusive of tax withholding questions, guidance on internal and provider processes, etc.
  • Coordination with local tax experts on expat payroll requirements
  • Comprehensive ownership of the internal payroll responsibilities, within the broader compensation process, from start to finish across the Firm:
  • Coordination with the Human Resources department, including processes and systems integration (Workday) and data validations.
  • Understanding and calculation of various employee compensation programs
  • Accruals and reconciliation of payroll / compensation program amounts within Firm’s general ledger system
  • Support of internal management reporting and metrics
  • Design, implement and monitor process improvements, including workflow reengineering and automation projects, to streamlines processes and increase department efficiency
  • Coordination with auditors in support of annual audit cycle, including some preparation of reporting / disclosure requirements for inclusion in financial statements.
  • Involvement with the Firm’s annual and quarterly budget planning exercise
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of relevant U.S. payroll processing experience, inclusive of preparation, analytical review, quality control/data validation checks, and service provider management
  • ADP experience required
  • Foreign, local payroll provider strongly preferred
  • Relevant Systems / Software experience
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Workday experience required
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • During interactions, meetings, presentation and in emails
  • In work product produced and reviewed (i.e., spreadsheet creation)
  • Strong academic record – 3.2 GPA or above
  • Inquisitive mindset — Not hesitant to ask follow-up questions to clarify and further understand concepts, data relationships, information logic, drivers of changes, etc.
  • Detailed oriented — Work product reflects quality control /consistency checks
  • Organized in schedule of deliverables, including status across portfolio of work
  • Collaborative, team player
