About Our Summer Analyst Program

The Summer Analyst Program runs for 10 weeks, during which Analysts will enjoy extensive contact with Nomura professionals at all levels through discussion groups, seminars and informal social functions. This program is an integral component of our full time recruiting.

We aim to provide Summer Analysts with the same level of exposure as a first-year Analyst, with a hands‑on opportunity to participate as full members of the team. They are expected to form effective working relationships and to demonstrate a commitment to the firm’s goals and values.

During the course of the internship, Summer Analysts benefit from working closely with a buddy and interacting regularly with a senior mentor.

Responsibilities

As a Sales & Trading Summer Analyst, you will be working closely with all front office employees, gaining a wide understanding of Instinet’s execution products, and trading related content services. Responsibilities will include:

  • Shadow our sales and sales traders across the various execution teams, with the goal of learning the full execution life cycle of a Global Equity and US Listed Options transaction
  • Work closely with senior traders and experts from other groups to help with content generation across the sales and trading teams
  • Assist in preparation of client presentations, and updated market structure information by engaging with Exchanges and other Trading Venues
  • Work on specific ad-hoc projects for the trading desk as needed
  • Liaise with our back and middle office teams to assist our sales trading teams to confirm and reconcile trade bookings and breaks
  • Gain exposure to our Technology Services business that offers Execution Management Systems and Analytics products to our full client base
Qualifications
  • An overall interest in the financial industry, finance related products, and trading technology
  • Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team
  • A high degree of initiative, motivation, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Strong academic record
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills (coding skills are a plus)
  • Experience in client/customer facing role is a plus

Requirements
  • Pursuing a BA/BS degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college/university
  • On‑track to graduate between December 2027 and June 2028
Disclosures

The base salary for this position is set based on a rate of $110,000 per year. This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime, in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
