Salary: $250,000 - $350,000/annually

Location: New York, NY (on-site)

Overview:

A leading asset management firm is seeking a seasoned Portfolio Manager to join its growing team in New York City. This is a high-impact role for a strategic investment professional with a proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering strong portfolio performance. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry expertise, a client-first mindset, and the ability to contribute revenue from an existing book of business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage investment portfolios across a diverse client base, ensuring alignment with financial goals and risk tolerance.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional clients.
  • Develop customized investment strategies and provide ongoing performance analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal research and product teams to identify market opportunities and enhance portfolio offerings.
  • Actively contribute to business development efforts by leveraging an existing client network and identifying new prospects.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, offering insights on market trends, asset allocation, and long-term financial planning.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in asset management, investment advisory, or private banking.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring or transition a book of business, ideally generating $1–5M in revenue.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, investment vehicles, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Background in a larger financial institution is a plus—especially for candidates seeking more flexibility and autonomy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • CFA or similar designation preferred but not required.
