Job Description

As an Underwriter at SBG, you’ll play a vital role in helping us shape the future of business funding. Your responsibilities will include evaluating funding applications, financial information, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess the creditworthiness of businesses seeking financing.

Position Responsibilities:

Funding Evaluation:Evaluate funding applications for business-to-business (B2B) lending by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, bank statements, and other relevant documentation to assess creditworthiness.

Risk Assessment:Perform detailed risk analyses to identify potential credit risks and propose appropriate mitigation strategies.

Underwriting Guidelines:Consistently apply underwriting guidelines and policies to funding applications, making informed decisions within established approval limits.

Collaboration:Collaborate closely with sales and other internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy and efficiency in the underwriting process.

Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all underwriting activities comply with regulatory standards, lending policies, and internal compliance requirements.

Credit Review:Conduct regular credit reviews to monitor portfolio credit quality and proactively identify emerging risks.

Documentation and Reporting:Maintain meticulous records of underwriting decisions, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide insightful recommendations to senior management.

Candidate

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.

· Minimum of 5 years' experience in underwriting roles within B2B lending.

· Extensive knowledge of lending principles, credit risk assessment methodologies, and underwriting practices.

· Proficiency in financial statement analysis, credit evaluation, and risk assessment.

· Comprehensive understanding of lending regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements.

· Strong analytical capabilities, decision-making aptitude, and problem-solving skills.

· Independent working style with effective time management and multitasking abilities.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across diverse teams.
