What we’re building
Basic Capital is going to solve the massive retirement gap by building a retirement benefit that makes sense for everyone, starting with a 401(k) platform that includes embedded access to leverage inside of a retirement account (IRA or 401k).
About the roleWe’re hiring a Senior Ops Associate to own the financial analysis, reconciliations, and ticket flow that power our customer experience. You’ll reconcile large CSVs into clean outputs, run vendor portal submissions, and keep every artifact named, filed, and linked-so customers, partners, and auditors never wonder what happened next.
What you’ll doOwn processes end-to-end: Distributions, rollovers, conversions, corrective contributions, and 5500 prep—collect info, generate forms, submit, track, and close the loop.
Build the future of Basic Capital: Turn messy manual processes into automated processes that delight customers
Reconcile data: Join multi-CSV inputs (payroll events, enrollments, balances) into per-enrollment/per-tax-type outputs; produce clean CSV/PDF artifacts with audit notes.
Run portals & vendors: Submit to custodians/TPAs/transfer agents, maintain a simple status board, elevate early, and de-risk handoffs.
Work the queue: Triage tickets, write clear customer/vendor emails, and unblock internal teammates quickly.
Protect hygiene: Enforce naming/versioning/foldering; link everything to Jira; keep docs inspection-ready.
Background: 3–6 years in regulated ops (finance/fintech/benefits/transfer agent/brokerage). Not a retirement-industry lifer.
Spreadsheet athlete: Advanced Sheets/Excel (pivots, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, array formulas, QUERY/filters, validation); comfortable with 50k+ row CSVs.
Process-tight & clear writer: You love SOPs/checklists and you write emails customers actually understand.
Bonus: Light SQL or Apps Script; familiarity with ticketing (Intercom/Jira) and Drive/Docs discipline.
