About 9fin

The world's largest asset class, debt, operates with the worst data.

Technology has revolutionized equity markets with electronic trading, quant algos and instantaneous news. However, in debt capital markets, the picture is completely different. It still behaves like it’s in the 1980s; trillions of dollars of trades are placed over the phone, news is slow, and corporate credit information is imperfect and scattered.

Our mission is to change this.

9fin's proprietary technology delivers fast and comprehensive financial, credit, legal & ESG analysis. Our clients are able to make faster, more informed decisions, win more business and most importantly, save time.

Our fast growing list of clients include 9 of the top 10 Investment Banks, leading Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and Law Firms.

The opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented junior analyst to join our distressed credit team. This role will be crucial in maintaining and expanding our restructuring data offering, ensuring its accuracy and utility for our clients. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of data management, from overseeing data entry to producing insightful analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong analytical mindset and an interest in the distressed and restructuring landscape.

  • Coordinate and oversee 9fin's restructuring league table process, ensuring timely and accurate publication

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including research, editorial and product teams to generate ideas for new data fields and data products, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of our restructuring data

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of our restructuring data, proactively identifying and resolving data discrepancies

  • Contribute to projects aimed at improving data collection methodologies and enhancing the overall quality and efficiency of our data operations

About you

This role will be a great fit if:

  • You have a demonstrable interest in the distressed debt and restructuring markets and are keen to develop your knowledge in this dynamic space

  • You possess exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data accuracy

  • You are highly organised and able to manage your workload effectively, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines

  • You have strong communication skills and are comfortable collaborating with different teams across the organisation

  • You are proactive, take initiative, and have a strong sense of ownership over your work

  • You are eager to learn and contribute to the growth and development of our data products
