Credit Portfolio Management sits at the intersection of Pay Pal’s on‑balance sheet credit business and off‑balance sheet asset externalization. Our mandate is to protect and optimize returns on capital, liquidity, and reputation by managing balance sheet lending and capital markets trades across consumer and merchant lending. We ensure portfolios align with strategy, deliver target economics, and operate within a strong control framework.

As an asset‑backed finance portfolio manager, you will own Pay Pal’s off‑balance sheet credit portfolio globally, interface with investors, banks, and rating agencies, and generate data‑driven insights for leadership.

• Develop and articulate clear plans to optimize the credit portfolio and meet team performance goals.
• Perform complex financial objectives that require highly specialized domain knowledge and advanced business expertise.
• Lead lending activities aligned with financial objectives and coordinate the activities of others.
• Design credit portfolios for long‑term financial success by understanding business needs and industry trends.
• Determine methods and procedures for new assignments that may impact activities of others.
• Partner with Capital Markets to lead internally‑facing activities related to new issuances, extensions, and upsizes—coordinate due‑diligence streams, first‑/second‑line approvals, documentation, and key governance activities.
• Own weekly/monthly performance reporting, trigger monitoring, and incident resolution to preserve balance‑sheet resilience.
• Monitor primary/secondary markets, agency reports, and sell‑side color to value portfolios and advise on pricing, structure, and investor appetite.
• Design frameworks that ensure future scalability of the capital markets platform by automating low‑leverage tasks, retiring legacy pain points, and driving operational control standards.
• Support the portfolio strategy for Pay Pal’s on‑balance sheet credit assets by performing portfolio valuation analysis and strategy using unit economics, asset yields, and customer lifetime value calculations.

• 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in asset‑backed finance/ABS or adjacent structured finance domains (e.g., private credit, infrastructure, DCM); corporate strategy experience may also be suitable.
• Comfort translating financial analysis into narrative for consumption by senior management.
• Ability to interpret and sensitize financial models and transaction legal documents.
• Track record managing post‑execution credit portfolios, operational risk, and regulatory engagements within a banking, asset manager, corporate treasury, or fintech environment.
• Advanced Excel skills (VBA, Python, or SQL a plus).
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills spanning investors, banks, and internal stakeholders.
• High self‑direction and bias for process improvement; commitment to responsible AI adoption and continuous learning.
• Some experience with US GAAP and/or IFRS three‑statement analysis.
