the cfo at our client engaged us to source and qualify candidates for an fp&a manager opportunity that's fully remote and newly created. The client is a profitable, growing, pe-owned manufacturing and customized software company with ~$200m in annual revenue, in the surging identity management industry (authentication, biometrics, fraudulent identity protection, etc.). The client is a subsidiary of a $3b parent company with several subsidiaries based globally, all run with the same rigor 'as if' they’re a publicly-listed company, with a fast pace, best practices and systems, etc.

the manager will report directly to the cfo and function as the cfo's 'go-to' for full-scope, day-to-day and project / strategic-related fp&a responsibilities and needs. The manager will start as a manager of the fp&a function, not people, and over time have the opportunity to move up within the company to fp&a director / vp. All employees work remotely within this client's accounting & finance dept.

Base salary in the ~$125k to $175k range, plus bonus.

the role has great visibility and advancement opportunities - interaction with bod, the pe firm, and the parent corporate office. The cfo’s looking for a ‘go-getter’ who’s eager to learn, make an impact to the business, and have the skills, motivation and drive to move up over time to director and vp fp&a at the company.

main responsibilities
  • budgeting, forecasting and budget vs actual analysis with commentary
  • short and long-term financial planning
  • creating, monitoring and updating kpi's and dashboards
  • cash forecasting and modeling
  • improve and prepare month-end financial reporting package for pe-firm and parent co
  • 'what-if' pro-forma strategic scenarios related to m&a, pricing / product cost changes, etc.
  • capex and opex
  • analysis of inventory, cogs, margins, etc.
  • liaise between accounting / finance and operations, help dept heads to better understand their budgets, budget vs actuals, and run more productive and efficient depts.
  • pe-owned company, but if not, gaining this experience and adding it to your resume would be meaningful for your career options moving forward.
requirements
  • 5+ years of 'hands-on' fp&a experience required
  • bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, accounting or economics required
  • outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills - able to present to the ceo, pe-firm, parent company, and bod
  • mba, cpa or cfa preferred
  • manufacturing, distribution, and / or software development industry experience preferred
  • 'hands-on' fp&a experience with inventory and product costing / pricing preferred
  • experience working for pe-owned company preferred

the company was recently carved-out from the parent company as a stand-alone legal entity. The cfo's building a stand-alone infrastructure and f/s package - this role is a key part of cfo's team.
