This position will support our Real Estate Industry Group, specifically the Commercial Real Estate team. Our team works with clients driving community development and industry advancement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage tax compliance and tax advisory engagements in the NYC Commercial Real Estate Industry group.
• Determine resource requirements and work with a team to ensure exceptional client service.
• Manage expectations with team members and monitor engagement progress.
• Review partnership and corporate tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance.
• Research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations and other relevant authorities/guidance.
• Draft tax technical memorandums and share knowledge to develop team members.
• Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and target client requirements.
• Actively participate in proposal development, taking a lead role responding to requests for proposal.
• Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity and independent thinking; lead by example.

• Bachelor's degree required;
  Master’s in Accounting/Taxation preferred.
• CPA, JD or EA required.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant tax experience.
• 2+ years of managerial experience.
• Current experience with commercial real estate clients including real estate, private equity and joint ventures.
• REIT experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong tax research skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and exceptional client service skills.
• Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software, including Pro System, CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement.
• Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.

In New York City, the salary range for Tax Manager is $110,000 – $175,000. Salary determination will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, experience, skills and competencies.
