Location: New York

Staff Reporter – Central Banking – Infopro Digital

Infopro Digital’s Central Banking is seeking a staff reporter to work from its New York or Nashville bureaus covering central banks, economic policy, and fintech developments across the Americas. This position is suitable for a journalist looking to cover an exciting new beat or a graduate seeking a challenge. The successful candidate will not necessarily have prior journalistic experience but must have intelligence, enthusiasm, energy, and strong writing ability.

A demonstrated interest in finance, economic policy, and/or digital transformation; a willingness to learn; and the ability to master complex topics are required.

The role involves the following key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Writing news, analysis pieces, and features
  • Conducting research and cultivating contacts to uncover significant stories
  • Regularly interviewing senior officials from the central banking community
  • Collaborating with editors to maintain high research and reporting standards
  • Maintaining journalistic ethics and accuracy
  • Contributing to the Central Banking Benchmarking Service and Awards
  • Traveling to conferences and interviewing across the Americas region

Requirements:

  • Ability to write accurately, clearly, and interestingly
  • Capacity to rapidly learn about complex subjects
  • Willingness to research subjects in depth
  • Interest in central banks, finance, economics, and future technology
  • Networking skills and ability to build a contact book
  • Team player
