Job Description

As an Analyst in the Investment Banking group, you will gain experience in restructurings, M&A, and financial advisory services. You will have exposure to a variety of products and immediately interact with clients. It is expected that you will continue to take on more responsibilities as your transaction execution skills are refined.

Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in restructuring assignments, a high‑pressure environment that requires an ability to quickly and accurately respond to requests.
  • Prepare valuations (comparable analysis, DCF, sum of parts, etc.).
  • Provide a high level of qualitative and quantitative financial modeling.
  • Ensure that all material—statements, models, and deliverables—is accurate and complete.
  • Participate actively in client meetings.
  • Prepare pitch books to support the group's ongoing business development efforts.
  • Conduct business, industry, and capital markets research.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of investment banking at a financial analyst level (2 years preferred).
  • Understanding or experience in distress/restructuring or M&A.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
  • Demonstrated quantitative, analytic and modeling skills.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking products.
  • Expertise in financial and computer applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Bloomberg).
  • Understanding/experience with credit analysis is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills utilized within a team environment and in client interaction.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity.
Benefits and Compensation

The salary range is $115,000 - $125,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined periodically as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal.

Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy‑two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part‑time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave.
