Regulatory Policy Director – Capital, Liquidity & Reporting FrameworksA global financial institution is seeking a senior leader to serve as its in-house authority on the interpretation and application of prudential regulatory requirements—including capital, risk‑weighted assets, leverage, large exposures, liquidity, and related reporting frameworks.
This role sits within the firm's Accounting & Regulatory Policy function and works closely with teams across Regulatory Reporting, Treasury, Finance, Capital, and business leadership, as well as counterparts overseas.
The Director will regularly brief senior executives, provide interpretations on complex rule sets, and assess regulatory implications for new business initiatives and structured transactions.
What You’ll Do Policy & GovernanceDevelop, maintain, and communicate firmwide policies related to regulatory reporting and capital/liquidity requirements.
Evaluate regulatory developments (e.g., Basel III finalization) and determine whether new policies or updates are required.
Help prepare the firm’s responses to proposed rule makings and participate in industry working groups.
Regulatory Interpretation & AdvisoryAdvise stakeholders on the correct application of U.S. regulatory rules across banking, broker‑dealer, and swap‑dealer entities.
Provide written interpretations and guidance on technical issues across capital, liquidity, and regulatory reporting.
Review and challenge data within key regulatory filings (e.g., FR Y‑9C, FFIEC 002, FR 2052a, FR Y‑15, FR Y‑14, and broker‑dealer FOCUS reports).
Assess capital and reporting impacts of new products and non‑standard transactions.
Change Management & ImplementationSupport the build‑out and implementation of new reporting requirements tied to evolving regulations.
Lead cross‑functional regulatory change initiatives and oversee enhancements to the firm’s capital and liquidity reporting infrastructure.
Deliver training to internal teams on regulatory obligations and reporting expectations.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- ~10+ years in regulatory reporting, regulatory policy, prudential regulation, or capital/liquidity advisory.
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and U.S. regulatory rules; familiarity with Basel/Client frameworks.
- Ability to communicate highly technical regulatory issues to senior leaders.
- Experience interacting with regulators or participating in regulatory policy discussions is a strong plus.
