Job Summary: The Credit Associate plays a vital role in managing customer credit accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining financial stability. In a wine distribution company, this role supports sales and operations by evaluating creditworthiness, processing credit applications, and resolving account discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process incoming credit applications.
- Manage all accounts NYSLA & other state liquor control compliance guidelines.
- Maintain and update credit hold lists.
- Make daily collection calls to overdue accounts.
- Resolve customer inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account status.
- Provide invoice copies and statements upon request.
- Investigate and resolve short payments and deductions.
- Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and external regulations.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and logistics teams to support order approvals and account management.
- Maintain accurate records of credit activities and decisions.
- Education:
Associate degree or higher - Experience:
1–3 years in credit operations, accounts receivable, or financial analysis.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to details and high personal standards of performance
- Effective self‑management skills, specifically time management
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and coworkers, both in the office and virtually
- Experience in the wine, beverage, or distribution industry.
- Knowledge of trade credit practices and customer account management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
