Aqua is the operating system for wealth channel alternatives. We are building the platform for independent broker-dealers (IBDs) and independent financial advisors (RIAs) to invest in alternative assets. We are on track to process $5B in new transactions for 2025, with customer logos including some of the largest RIAs/BDs in the nation and asset managers including Blackstone, Apollo, JLL, Blue Owl, etc.

We are riding one of the biggest “platform shifts” in capital markets history – the movement of wealth channel capital into private markets. Over the next 10 years, we will become key financial infrastructure for trillions of dollars worth of assets.

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Head of Finance to lead the financial strategy and operations of our company, which combines the agility of a tech startup with the scale-building dynamics of a growing financial technology platform. This role will oversee core finance and accounting operations, manage our capital structure, and serve as a strategic partner to the executive team as we scale.

The ideal candidate brings both startup scrappiness and financial rigor—comfortable setting up processes from scratch while also implementing institutional-grade controls and reporting.

Financial and Accounting Operations: Build and manage the finance function, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, expense management, and controls. Take charge of budgeting, financial operations, and cash-flow management.

Capital Structure and Fundraising: Drive and manage core financing activities; provide support to the Executive Team for equity fundraising and investor reporting.

Controllership: Establish scalable systems, policies, and processes to improve visibility and control; set up and maintain financial reporting dashboards for both internal management and investors.

Modeling and Forecasting: Lead forecasting and financial planning for the organization; build and maintain financial models for the company. Provide real time visibility of financial performance against forecasts.

• 6-8+ years of finance experience, ideally with a blend of:
  • Tech startup or high-growth company finance leadership.
  • Private equity, investment banking, or corporate development experience.
  • Strong controller or accounting foundation (CPA/CFA helpful but not required).
• Experience with debt raises, credit facilities, or structured financing.
• Proven ability to scale finance functions.
• Strong command of FP&A, cash management, and financial modeling.
• Hands‑on operator with the ability to zoom between strategy and execution.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present to executives, boards, and investors.
