Overview

Our client, a fast-growing, family-owned apparel company
, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their leadership team. You’ll oversee accounting and finance functions, manage daily cash flow, ensure timely reporting, and provide strategic insights to drive growth and profitability. This role also includes operational oversight where finance intersects with logistics, vendors, and employee benefits.

Base pay range

$/yr - $/yr

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, delivering accurate financial statements
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring accurate invoicing and vendor payments
• Build budgets vs. actuals and provide variance analysis to management
• Support FP&A initiatives, including forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial modeling
• Monitor daily cash flow, working capital, and funding needs
• Administer payroll, retirement plans, and profit-sharing contributions
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax filings, and audits
• Manage relationships with banks, factors, and credit card processors
• Provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize financial processes

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or MBA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or finance leadership
• Hands-on expertise with month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and cash flow management
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience with payroll and retirement/profit-sharing administration
• Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling expertise
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent cross-functional communication and leadership skills
