About the Role
Wasserman Music is seeking a highly strategic, relationship-driven Integrated Sports & Music Partnerships lead to join the Artist Services division. This role will unlock and manage high-impact music opportunities across Wasserman’s network of sports leagues, teams, athletes, properties, and brand partners, serving as a dedicated internal resource for integrating music into sports verticals globally.
Sitting within Artist Services and working closely with agents, genre teams, Brands, and Wasserman’s global Sports business, this role will identify, shape, pitch, and execute music-driven partnerships across the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, MLS, NCAA, global football, and more. The ideal candidate will strategically bridge music and sport—creating programming, content, social initiatives, merchandise opportunities, athlete collaborations, and live activations that elevate our artists and expand Wasserman’s cultural impact.
Reporting to the SVP, Artist Services this position serves as the connective tissue between the Music division and Wasserman’s larger Sports ecosystem.
Responsibilities & Job Outline- Sports Partnership Development & Pipeline Building:
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key contacts across major sports leagues, teams, governing bodies, and sports media/tech partners.
- Develop a robust, proactive partnership pipeline for music talent across sports verticals—seeding ideas, pitching artist opportunities, and shaping multi-touchpoint programs.
- Coordinate closely with Wasserman Sports leadership, Corporates and Privates and agents to surface new partnership openings, tentpole initiatives, and cross-division revenue opportunities.
- Artist Integration Into Sports Ecosystem:
- Lead all music-related initiatives within sports, including
- Athlete × Artist collaborations
- Halftime performances, national anthems, special-event talent
- Social and content co-creation
- Merch and capsule collections
- Awards shows, all-star weekends, finals, drafts, bowl games
- Global event integrations and cultural tentpoles
- Serve as the internal service hub for all sports-music requests, ensuring talent is represented across sports platforms and programs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Across Wasserman:
- Partner with agent teams, genre leads, Sports agents, Brands & Properties, Branding and Tour Marketing to develop cohesive cross-division strategies.
- Create internal workflows and best practices for activating music talent across sports verticals—ensuring seamless execution for artists, partners, and teams.
- Align music programming with sports-driven fan engagement, community moments, broadcast opportunities, and global event marketing.
- Strategic Planning, Insights & Industry Knowledge:
- Build an Integrated Sports × Music Partnerships Roadmap to prioritize key league moments, partner needs, seasonal sports calendars, and long-term opportunities.
- Monitor cultural trends in sports and music, identifying where talent can drive relevance and commercial value.
- Provide internal education and insights on the sports marketplace—briefing agents, artists, and internal teams on opportunities, deal structures, and best practices.
- Deal Structuring, Execution & Performance:
- Lead negotiation, evaluation, and execution of partnership deals in collaboration with internal legal and business affairs.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of sports-integrated talent programs: scoping, creative development, approvals, logistics, budget oversight, and performance tracking.
- Create case studies, internal recaps, and partner-facing deliverables highlighting results and ROI.
- On-Ground Support & Representation:
- Attend key sports events, all-star weekends, games, festivals, and partner meetings to represent Wasserman and support artist participation.
- Serve as an in-region and global point of contact for talent, sports partners, and internal teams as programs activate.
- 7+ years experience in sports partnerships, music partnerships, brand partnerships, entertainment strategy, or talent marketing.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. and global sports ecosystem—including league structures, event calendars, commercial models, and content/distribution channels.
