The Director of Garden Vision is responsible for the daily administration of Garden Vision and supports all in‑arena needs. This includes supervising Garden Vision production staff and Local 3 Electricians, coordinating with the arena event calendar, attending client and producer meetings, and managing event information, graphic and video material. The role tracks billing for departments, outside clients, maintenance, and technology vendors, and collaborates with NY Rangers, NY Knicks, Sports Properties, Entertainment, Family Shows, Ad Sales, Special Events, Event Production, and management to fulfill all related project and content display needs.
Job Responsibilities- Oversee the set‑up and operation of Garden Vision, LED Boards, Digital Signage, Marquees, and event presentation during events.
- Coordinate production, facilities, staffing, and graphic needs with game, event, and entertainment producers.
- Monitor and report on control room operations, technical staff, and equipment condition.
- Schedule, train, and manage full‑time staff as well as freelance producers, directors, and production assistants on a seasonal and per‑event basis.
- Oversee approximately 30 game‑night staff per game, ensuring proper scheduling for all sporting events and concerts.
- Work collaboratively with venue technical staff to maintain all equipment in the control room and Garden Vision boards, assisted by the Garden Vision engineer.
- Collaborate with internal departments, outside clients, sporting events, and concerts regarding the technical requirements for Garden Vision.
- Facilitate relationships with vendors to ensure facilities are working properly and that regular maintenance is performed.
- Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure proper invoicing for Garden Vision creative services and additional personnel for third‑party uses (Capex/Opex PO/invoicing).
- 8–10 years of television production experience with a background in studio, live, and remote production.
- Experience supervising and instructing video editors in a post‑production setting is essential.
- Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and the ability to manage both non‑union and unionized work forces.
- Proficiency with Windows PC, Linux Server, Mac workstations, Symon, Daktronics, Harris, and White Way Display Systems.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator) for video, motion, and still graphics production, as well as TV production equipment (audio mixing, video switching, routing, modulation, and transport systems).
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a deadline‑oriented environment.
- Demonstrated integrity, tact, diplomacy, and a commitment to company values and principles, using strong interpersonal skills.
- Adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group and working collaboratively as a team.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays as required.
US $113,000—$180,000 per year.
