Manager, Sports Production; CBS Sports

This is a Full Time position in the field of Commercial, Corporate, & Pro Video Production , located in New York, NY .

The Manager, Sports Production will apply a deep knowledge of sports production and love of sports to work with the CBS Sports Production management team to help develop and grow young production talent. The Manager will possess a keen eye for detail and high expectations for broadcast quality, with a particular knowledge and love of graphics. They will work with a group of Broadcast Associates and share their expertise, providing constructive feedback, and work to develop skills as part of a team.

The selected person will also rotate in overseeing our live events on nights and weekends, communicating live with the remote team and managing commercial inventory as one event flows into another. A successful Manager, Sports Production must love sports, bring a positive attitude, possess extensive remote production knowledge with an emphasis on graphics and enjoy working in a live environment with real-time decision making, while committing to upholding high standards and providing feedback in a positive and constructive manner.

• Joining the CBS Sports/CBS Sports Network Remote Production Management team, under the direction of SVP, Remote Production and CP, Remote Production on assigned properties.
• Managing a select group of Broadcast Associates and helping with their growth and development. Expected to provide regular feedback, help integrate new hires into CBS Sports’ workflows, and working with Remote Production leadership team to oversee performance development and growth.
• Regular “on‑call” shifts overseeing live events on CBS Sports Network, communicating with the production team in real time, managing game‑to‑game transitions, and handling general quality control of live events.
• Helping with CBS Sports Network remote integration paperwork, compiling relevant information along the lines of promos, off-air timings, studio support, etc., for game crews to have as a one-stop reference.
• Collaborating with other departments within CBS Sports as they integrate with production, including but not limited to graphics, marketing/promos, and transmission.
• Assisting with outside packagers as needed to provide support to Senior CP and Producer of Outside Packages in managing workflows and deliverables to external production partners.

• Bachelor degree in communications, broadcast journalism, or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge and passion for sports.
• Minimum of five years of experience in television production, including working on live remotes at the AD level or above (more experience preferred).
• Required to work non-traditional business days/hours (nights and weekends).
• Highly proactive and organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership skills, comfortable managing people.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Strong communication skills.
