Customer Service Nonprofit Arts/Entertainment Production Stage Crew Position

Status: Part Time, on call, variable scheduling

Salary: $20/hour

The historic Troy Savings Bank Music Hall (Troy, NY) is seeking motivated music lovers to join our stage crew team that support the world class concerts on our stage. Position is part time and/or on call with variable scheduling. Candidates should be proactive, self-motivated, conscientious, mature, and have good communications skills with staff, visitors, and artistic personnel. A flexible schedule is required as activities are primarily nights and weekends and can involve long days.

Stage

Crew
  • Loading and unloading of lighting and sound equipment, musical instruments, scenery, and other equipment from visiting artists and community groups
  • Setup of stage equipment to include platforms, choral risers, tables, chairs and music stands.
  • Assist sound department with backline and sound equipment set up.
  • Follows all stage, lighting or sound cues for performances.
  • Familiarity with theatrical equipment and materials and experience in at least one technical theatre field or audio-visual, or equivalent.
  • Possess working knowledge of theatrical lighting systems and the equipment involved. Spotlight operation experience a plus.

  • A love of the arts and or music, prior experience in a performing arts setting preferred
  • High School or equivalent education
  • Positive attitude and ability to interact professionally with the public, contractors, and other employees.
  • Ability to maintain composure and flexibility in stressful situations.
  • Clean record and positive background check required.
  • Typical work schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms, ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
