This learnership is designed to provide structured workplace exposure, technical competence, and certification required to qualify as an electrician.

• this structured learnership leads to an electrical trade test certificate, conducted under the auspices of the mining qualification authority (mqa).

what you will gain:

as an engineering learner – electrical (heavy current), you will:

• receive hands‑on workplace training in a mining and refining environment
• develop a solid understanding of electrical installation, maintenance, and fault‑finding
• industrial electrical systems and machinery
• electrical motors, switch gear, and control panels
• preventative and breakdown maintenance practices

learn to safely install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment in accordance with legislation and standards

build a strong technical foundation for long‑term career growth in the engineering sector

minimum qualifications and requirements:

to be considered, you must have:

• a completed n3 or ncv level 4 certificate in electrical engineering (heavy current)
• a basic understanding of electrical trade principles
• medical fitness to work at bmr / pmr plants
